Naidu and Pawan Kalyan Launch ₹11,085 Crore Palle Panduga 3.0 to Transform Rural Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh has kicked off the third phase of its flagship rural development programme with a big push on roads, housing, dairy and farming. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan announced a slew of infrastructure, housing, agriculture and welfare initiatives at the Palle Panduga 3.0 event in Ramapuram village of Varikuntapadu mandal, Nellore district.
Roads are at the heart of this phase. The state is taking up 15,500 km of BT and CC roads, including 6,000 km of concrete roads costing ₹2,700 crore. Naidu said 6,500 km of rural roads had already been completed in the last two years, and the Adavi Tallibata programme has added over 1,500 km of roads to tribal settlements. Pawan Kalyan said the ₹11,085 crore third phase would cover 9,500 km of BT roads, 22,000 mini Gokulams for dairy farmers, 50,000 acres of horticulture expansion and 1,000 km of magic drains.
Nellore district, where the programme was launched, will receive nearly ₹520 crore. Udayagiri constituency has already received ₹121 crore for 115 km of roads, 1,200 water ponds and 348 mini Gokulams. The state has also sanctioned ₹52 crore for 381 Sujala Sravanthi works to tackle fluoride contamination in drinking water, ₹2.5 crore for an access road to Udayagiri Fort, and ₹3.5 crore for a road serving salt producers in Gokulapalli.
Beyond rural works, Naidu used the stage to announce several other initiatives. He said 28,000 house-site pattas were recently distributed in Visakhapatnam, with another 24,000 beneficiaries set to receive titles in Vijayawada under the Mee Illu–Mee Hakku programme. He also announced that the Rayalaseema Horticulture Hub will be launched on October 2 with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and that groundbreaking for three lakh houses will take place on October 4 with Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Looking ahead, Naidu said the state is courting investments in space, aerospace, semiconductors, green energy, quantum computing and data centres to create long-term opportunities for the youth.
Taken together, the announcements show a government trying to work on two fronts at once: better roads, water and livelihoods in villages today, and new industries and jobs for tomorrow. The real test, as always, will be delivery. Villagers will judge Palle Panduga 3.0 by how quickly the roads are laid, how well the drains and dairy units work, and whether the promised funds reach every panchayat on time.
